Bowflex SelectTech 552 Adjustable Dumbbells Pair
Because of limited space in the house, I decided on these adjustable dumbbells over purchasing a massive weight set. We both wanted to get back into shape and after purchasing P90X, we realized it was not practical to buy bunch of weights when we could use the same weights. We decided on the Bowflex SelectTech 552 Adjustable Dumbbells Pair and have never looked back. The ease of use, the balance and speed in which one can change the weight is terrific. I originally owned a set of weight plates and the spindle bars but it became such an ordeal to increase and decrease weight that I would just use the same weight for all the exercise throughout that workout. Now, thanks to the Bowflex SelectTech 552 Adjustable Dumbbells Pair, I can quickly go from one weight to the next with ease The stand is keeps the adjustable dumbbells nice and neat so there’s never any plates to trip over. The price tag is a little steep but it’s completely worth it.
Ironmaster 75 lb Quick Lock Adjustable Dumbbell System
I’d like to direct people to BlackSCRunner’s 4 star review (though I rate them a 5). Having used these adjustable dumbbells for over a year now, I wholeheartedly agree with most of his observations. The Ironmaster 75 lb Quick Lock Adjustable Dumbbell System‘s aren’t the dumbbell of choice if one absolutely needs speed in weight selection even though one can change the weights fairly quickly. But they make up for it in solid durability. They feel awesome and solid. Just don’t drop them or you’ll damage the floor. Ideally it would be great to have both Ironmaster and Powerbloc. Having said that, I also have a set of ordinary adjustable and small fixed weights so drop sets with dumbbells aren’t an issue. The majority of my training incorporates pre-ex, 4X and Time under Tension anyway. The important thing is to ask oneself – what will the major part of my training protocol consist of? The Ironmasters are solid units that will last a life time.
PowerBlock Classic Adjustable Dumbbell Set
By far one of the best exercise equipment investments I have made. The reviews others have written speak for this product. The only complaint I have and it’s more of a nit-picking, is the metal can make a clanking sound from hitting together when performing various lifts. However, the clanking sound is definitely not loud or distracting. I’ve used these adjustable dumbbells through 6 rounds of P90X and they still perform & look like day 1. The labels on top & plastic color labels to slide the pins in are still like day 1 showing no signs of peeling, cracking, or discoloration. The actual pins & elastic string that hold the plates in place are both holding up like day 1. I’ve never had a pin even slip or even budge from holding the plates. I know they will last forever therefore will be purchasing a nice stand to keep them at a better height for R&R.
Bayou Fitness Pair of Adjustable Dumbbells
I just got them in today. The first time they had sent them to me through FedEx, they didn’t require a signature and they ended up being stolen off my front step. I notified them that I didn’t receive them, and they quickly began working with me to trying find out what happened. Their customer service was very nice and understand. After checking with my neighbors, and them checking with FedEx. We came to the conclusion that they must have been stolen. They sent me another set through FedEx with a signature required so I’m happy to say I got them.
After getting them out of the box I tested the different setting. Its not complex how to work them, and its a smooth transition from weight setting to weight setting. When shadow boxing with them they rattle a bit, but that is to be expecting from these kinds of weights. All of them stay in the handle with no problems. I would recommend these to anyone that is needing a good sturdy set, and from a company that wont let you down if you have a problem.
Xmark Fitness 50 lb. Adjustable Dumbbells
I purchased these a few months ago. I was leaning towards the bowflex adjustable dumbbells and then saw these. I am very happy that I made this purchase. Of the bad reviews of bowflex…ALL of them dealt with weights falling off and coming close to hitting people. These weights seem to be held very firm and I haven’t had any problem with them falling off or even seeming loose. I will probably get the bigger ones later on as my strength increases, but this was a good size because I use (most of the time) the full 25 and my wife is able to use them too with smaller weight. The look nice and perform how I would want them too.
